NFL Football 2017 preview

NFL Football 2017 News Updates. The National Football League is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference and the American Football Conference. The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL’s 17-week regular season runs from the week after Labor Day to the week after Christmas, with each team playing 16 games and having one bye week. Following the conclusion of the regular season, six teams from each conference (four division winners and two wild card teams) advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament culminating in the Super Bowl, which is usually held in the first Sunday in February, and is played between the champions of the NFC and AFC. Stream NFL Games was formed in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA) before renaming itself the National Football League for the 1922 season. The NFL agreed to merge with the American Football League (AFL) in 1966, and the first Super Bowl was held at the end of that season; the merger was completed in 1970. Today, the NFL has the highest average attendance (67,591) of any professional sports league in the world and is the most popular sports league in the United States. The Super Bowl is among the biggest club sporting events in the world and individual Super Bowl games account for many of the most watched television programs in American history, all occupying the Nielsen’s Top 5 tally of the all-time most watched U.S. television broadcasts by 2015. The NFL’s executive officer is the commissioner, who has broad authority in governing the league. NFL Streaming on NFL on TV is very popular in USA.

The Dallas Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team’s national following might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. The Cowboys’ streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games (home and away) began in 2002. The franchise shares the record for most Super Bowl appearances  with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos, corresponding to most NFC championships . The Cowboys won five  of those Super Bowl appearances, tying them with their NFC rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, both are second to Pittsburgh’s record six  Super Bowl championships. The Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85), in which they only missed the playoffs twice (1974 and 1984), an NFL record that remains unchallenged.

Green Bay Packers Game

The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. Green Bay is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, organized and starting play in 1919.[8] It is the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team based in the United States. Home games are played at Lambeau Field.

The Packers Football are the last vestige of “small town teams” common in the NFL during the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun, the franchise traces its lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay dating back to 1896. In 1919 and 1920, the Packers competed against other semi-pro clubs from around Wisconsin and the Midwest. They joined the American Professional Football Association (APFA), the forerunner of today’s NFL, in 1921. Although Green Bay is by far the smallest professional sports market in North America, its local fan and media base extends 120 miles south into Milwaukee, where it played selected home games between 1933 and 1994.

NFL Football 2017 News Updates

Patriots Game Today

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is located 21 miles (34 km) southwest of downtown Boston and 20 miles (32 km) northeast of downtown Providence, Rhode Island. The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium.

An original member of the American Football League (AFL), the Patriots joined the NFL in the 1970 merger of the two leagues. The team changed its name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots played their home games at Foxboro Stadium from 1971 to 2001, then moved to Gillette Stadium at the start of the 2002 season. The Patriots’ rivalry with the New York Jets is considered one of the most bitter rivalries in the NFL.

The Patriots have appeared in the Super Bowl eight times in franchise history, six of them since the arrival of head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady in 2000. The Patriots have since become one of the most successful teams in NFL history, winning twelve AFC East titles in 14 seasons since 2001, without a losing season in that period. The Patriots have since set numerous notable records, including most wins in a ten-year period (126, in 2003–2012), an undefeated 16-game regular season in 2007, and the longest winning streak consisting of regular season and playoff games in NFL history (a 21-game streak from October 2003 to October 2004). The Patriots own the record for most Super Bowls reached by a head coach-quarterback tandem (six), as well as being the first tandem to win the Super Bowl 14 years after the first.

Seahawks Football

The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football franchise based in Seattle, Washington. The Seahawks compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The Seahawks joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Seahawks are owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and are currently coached by Pete Carroll. Since 2002, the Seahawks have played their home games at CenturyLink Field (formerly Qwest Field), located south of downtown Seattle. The Seahawks previously played home games in the Kingdome (1976–1999) and Husky Stadium (1994, 2000–2001).

The Seahawks are the only NFL franchise based in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Thus attract support from a wide geographical area, including some parts of Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska, as well as Canadian fans in British Columbia and Alberta.

Seahawks fans have been referred to collectively as the 12th Man. The Seahawks’ fans have twice set the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd noise at a sporting event, first on September 15, 2013, registering 136.6 dB during a game against the San Francisco 49ers and again on December 2, 2013, during a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, with a then record-setting 137.6 dB.

Steelers Football

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Steelers compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) North division. Founded in 1933, the Steelers are the oldest franchise in the AFC.

In contrast with their status as perennial also-rans in the pre-merger NFL, where they were the oldest team to never win a league championship, the Steelers of the post-merger (modern) era are one of the most successful NFL franchises. Pittsburgh has won more Super Bowl titles (6), and hosted more (11) conference championship games than any other NFL team. The Steelers share the record for most AFC championships with the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos (8), and the record for most conference championship games played in with the San Francisco 49ers (15). The Steelers share the record for most Super Bowl appearances with the Patriots, Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys (8). The Steelers lost their most recent championship appearance, Super Bowl XLV, on February 6, 2011.

The Steelers were founded as the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 8, 1933, by Art Rooney, taking its original name from the baseball team of the same name, as was common practice for NFL teams at the time. To distinguish them from the baseball team, local media took to calling the football team the Rooney Men, an unofficial nickname which persisted for decades after the team adopted its current nickname. The ownership of the Steelers has remained within the Rooney family since its founding. The current owner is Art’s son, Dan Rooney, who has given much control of the franchise to his son Art Rooney II. Long one of the NFL’s flagship teams, the Steelers enjoy a large, widespread fanbase nicknamed Steeler Nation. The Steelers currently play their home games at Heinz Field on Pittsburgh’s North Side in the North Shore neighborhood, which also hosts the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. Built in 2001, the stadium replaced Three Rivers Stadium which hosted the Steelers for 31 seasons. Prior to Three Rivers, the Steelers had played their games in Pitt Stadium and Forbes Field.

Vikings Football

The Minnesota Vikings are an American football team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Vikings joined the National Football League (NFL) as an expansion team in 1960, and first took the field for the 1961 season. The team competes in the National Football Conference (NFC) North division; before that, the Vikings were in the NFC Central, and before that they were in the NFL’s Western Conference Central Division. The team has played in four Super Bowl games, but lost each one.

In May 2012, a bill was passed to build a new stadium for the team at the site of the Metrodome. The new stadium is expected to be open for the 2016 season. The Vikings played their home games at TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota while U.S. Bank Stadium is being built.

Professional football in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area (the “Twin Cities”) began with the Minneapolis Marines/Red Jackets, an NFL team that played intermittently in the 1920s and 1930s.[6] However, a new professional team in the area did not surface again until August 1959, when Minneapolis businessmen Bill Boyer, H.P. Skoglund, and Max Winter were awarded a franchise in the new American Football League (AFL). Five months later, in January 1960, after significant pressure from the NFL, the ownership group, along with Bernie Ridder, reneged on its agreement with the AFL and then was awarded the National Football League’s 14th franchise, with play to begin in 1961.Ole Haugsrud was added to the NFL team ownership because, in the 1920s, when he sold his Duluth Eskimos team back to the league, the agreement allowed him 10 percent of any future Minnesota team.Coincidentally or not, the teams from Ole Haugsrud’s high school, Central High School in Superior, Wisconsin, were also called the Vikings and also had a similar purple-and-yellow uniform design.

Denver Broncos Game

The Denver Broncos are an American football team based in Denver, Colorado. The Broncos compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The Broncos began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and joined the NFL as part of the merger in 1970. The Broncos are owned by the Pat Bowlen trust. The Broncos have played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High since 2001, after previously playing at Mile High Stadium from 1960 to 2000.

The Broncos were barely competitive during their 10-year run in the AFL and their first seven years in the NFL. They did not complete a winning season until 1973. Four years later, in 1977, they qualified for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history and advanced to Super Bowl XII. Since 1975, the Broncos have become one of the NFL’s more successful teams, having suffered only six losing records in 40 seasons. They have won eight AFC Championships, three Super Bowl championships, share the record for most Super Bowl appearances with the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, and Pittsburgh Steelers, and have four players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: John Elway, Floyd Little, Gary Zimmerman and Shannon Sharpe.

Carolina Panthers Game

The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Panthers compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The club is worth approximately US$1.56 billion, according to Forbes, and is controlled by founder Jerry Richardson and his family, who have a 48 percent stake; the remainder of the team is held by a group of 14 limited partners. The team president is Danny Morrison, and the head coach is Ron Rivera.

The Panthers were announced as the league’s 29th franchise in 1993, and began play in 1995. The Panthers played well in their first two years, finishing 7–9 in 1995 (an all-time best for an NFL expansion team’s first season) and 12–4 the following year, winning the NFC West before ultimately losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game. They did not have another winning season until 2003, when they won the NFC Championship Game and reached Super Bowl XXXVIII, losing 32–29 to the New England Patriots. After recording playoff appearances in 2005 and 2008, the team failed to record another playoff appearance until 2013, the first of three consecutive NFC South titles. After losing in the divisional round to the San Francisco 49ers in 2013 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2014, the Panthers finally returned to the Super Bowl in 2016, but lost to the Denver Broncos. The Panthers have reached the playoffs seven times, advancing to four NFC Championship Games and two Super Bowls. They have won six division titles, one in the NFC West and five in the NFC South.

WrestleMania 33

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match

Q: Who are you expecting to be a surprise challenger for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 33?

EB: Naomi. Much like Seth Rollins, she suffered a knee injury that forced her to the sidelines just ahead of WrestleMania. Like Rollins, I expect her to return just in time to have her WrestleMania moment. Little has been made of her recovery and rehabilitation. Nor has she undergone surgery. Her low-key role on the Road to WrestleMania makes her a prime candidate to surprise fans and pop up in time to regain her title. But she will not.

WrestleMania 33 Match Prediction: Alexa Bliss.

AM: A lot of people are assuming Asuka is a lock, but if WWE wants to swerve everyone by having her retain her title at NXT TakeOver: Orlando, another option is Tamina Snuka. She’s been waiting in the wings for a while, and since Raw has Nia Jax, SmackDown could use her as a dominant heel in their women’s division. An outsider’s chance would be Kelly Kelly, although she seems more like a Raw fit.

Match Prediction: Alexa Bliss retains.

KB: If anyone is going to make a surprise entrance, it would be best she is not a one-off but an addition to the roster, which needs more bodies. Therefore, an appearance by Asuka would be the ideal way to add a new top face to the division. She’s been wrestling at another level in NXT and would instantly dominate SmackDown. Matches with Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James are all enticing possibilities.

Match Prediction: Naomi recaptures the SmackDown Women’s Championship, pinning Bliss.

RD: Lita. It would be great fun to see her back in action again. It’d also boost her foes to tangle with her. Like Mickie James, Lita is a bridge to the better parts of past women’s divisions.

Match Prediction: Naomi wins back the title.

(CM) : Asuka. Having her come in and clean house out of nowhere would be a great way to bring up the woman who has been unstoppable in NXT.

Match Prediction: Mickie James.

John Cena and Nikki Bella vs The Miz and Maryse

Q: Can this mixed tag team match live up to its tremendous build, or will the match itself be an ultimate letdown?

EB: The match itself will benefit from fun spots and interactions between John Cena and The Miz, but anyone expecting a show-stealing performance is fooling themselves. The build has been great, the crowd will be hot and it will be entertaining. Anything beyond that will be a genuine surprise. In either direction.

WrestleMania 33 Match Prediction: John Cena and Nikki Bella.

AM: When you name Al Roker as a special guest announcer, it’s hard to expect this match to be on par with The Undertaker against Shawn Michaels. This will be a glorified squash match, and nothing more. If you want to see The Miz and Maryse get their comeuppance, you’ll enjoy it. But if you’re looking for a classic wrestling match, it will definitely be a letdown.

Match Prediction: John Cena and Nikki Bella win. Guaranteed.

KB: Cena and Miz have been wrestling at the highest levels of their careers lately, and I can see them taking it to the next step at WrestleMania. Unfortunately, the matchup of Nikki and Maryse is less enticing and will likely pull both men down. There is no way this can match up to the build because that was the best going into ‘Mania.

Match Prediction: Cena and Nikki gain a confident certain victory.

RD: It’s going to be difficult. The mic work between these enemies has been red-hot. The Total Bellas spoofs have been first-rate. The match, though, may not get a ton of time with all the title matches also on the card. And mixed tags are rarely any good.

Match Prediction: Cena and Bella win. Cena proposes.

CM: Cena and Miz are both great in the ring, and Nikki has made big strides since she returned last summer, but Maryse hasn’t been in a real match in years. If they can keep her involvement minimal, it should be a lot of fun.

Match Prediction: Cena and Nikki win, and Cena proposes.

Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg (WWE Universal Championship)

OddsShark lists Brock Lesnar as an overwhelming favorite (-5000) to defeat Goldberg and claim the WWE Universal Championship. Considering how unstoppable WWE has booked Goldberg since his return, what must the company do to justify a Lesnar win?

EB: I am not sure WWE has to justify a Brock Lesnar win at all. For the handful of times he has been manhandled by Goldberg, he is still very much The Beast Incarnate. If anything, this feels like Lesnar’s story. What happens when the typically dominant force of nature comes up against someone he cannot toss around the ring? What happens when he faces adversity? We will find out Sunday. Something tells me, though, that fans will not suddenly find fault with the most protected badass of the past five years suddenly rising to the occasion and taking the Universal Championship.

WrestleMania 33 Match Prediction: Brock Lesnar.

AM: I would go so far as to say there’s no justification needed. From a kayfabe perspective, Goldberg is a class above Lesnar, and this should be a quick squash in Goldberg’s favor. From a fan’s perspective, I see no value in taking such a fresh belt that has undergone so much controversy already and putting it on someone who won’t defend it again until the end of August. WWE clearly valued adding the Universal Championship to this match as the main event above any and all consequences or alternative options, and since those officials are the ones calling the shots, that must have felt like justification enough.

Match Prediction: Goldberg hangs it up after losing the title to Lesnar.

KB: It was KO who explained the fundamental flaw of Goldberg: endurance. Goldberg defeated Lesnar in quick fashion and did the same against Owens. If Lesnar can survive the early flurry, he could show he has the advantage over Goldberg as the match progresses. As long as this match is more than a couple of suplexes and an F5, Lesnar’s victory should come off as natural—especially if he cheats.

Match Prediction: Lesnar finally finds victory over Goldberg.

RD: The story has to make sense. Maybe Goldberg makes some key mistakes and Lesnar pounces on him. Maybe Goldberg suffers a storyline injury that Lesnar exploits. It’s going to be hard to satisfy a crowd already so down on this match either way, however.

Match Prediction: Lesnar wins a short one.

(CM): It has to make Lesnar look smart. His biggest downfall has been rushing at Goldberg and being caught with a Spear. If he looks like someone who has studied his opponent, everything will turn out fine.

Match Prediction: Brock Lesnar.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt (WWE Championship)

Q: Can Bray Wyatt overcome another pay-per-view loss, especially a title match in a headlining spot at WrestleMania?

EB: Bray Wyatt can overcome the loss if he can maintain his momentum. If he comes out of a WrestleMania loss angrier and more vengeful and dangerous than before, the loss is essentially erased. If he goes back to the middle of the pack, losing more big matches than he wins without any character growth or evolution, his most recent push has been meaningless.

WrestleMania 33 Match Prediction: Bray Wyatt.

AM: After all the blunders he had with losing steam throughout the years, he still managed to find himself in a position where WWE gave him the championship and set up the Royal Rumble winner to be his opponent, so despite those problems, he must still have his supporters. Another loss at WrestleMania certainly wouldn’t help, but those same people who pitched this title match to begin with will probably continue to support him going forward to help counteract that loss.

Match Prediction: Randy Orton becomes the new WWE champion.

KB: Wyatt will lose many more times in his career, including at WrestleMania, but this is his first WWE Championship reign. He must retain to solidify that if WWE has any hope of making him a top star on SmackDown. Orton has lost at ‘Mania in major matches before and can take the loss in stride as long as the contest is great. This must be Wyatt’s night.

Match Prediction: Wyatt proves his power, even without Sister Abigail, with a sudden emphatic victory.

RD: WWE can’t go that route. Wyatt will have worked with top names at WrestleMania but will have no wins to show for it. He already has a reputation for failing in big spots. The company would be foolish to perpetuate that.

Match Prediction: Wyatt retains.

(CM): He could if he had to, but I am not so sure he has to worry about it. Everyone is assuming Orton will win, which is why I think WWE will go in a different direction and have Wyatt retain with the help of a returning Erick Rowan.

Match Prediction: Bray Wyatt.

WWE WrestleMania 33 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania 33 Expect Brock Lesnar to win the Universal title with Randy Orton claiming the WWE Heavyweight crown.

The legendary Undertaker could suffer only his second defeat at Wrestlemania to Roman Reigns with reports suggesting it could lead to the legendary 52-year-old’s retirement.

AJ Styles is likely to beat Smackdown chief Shane McMahon – now that their mega fight is confirmed.

Seth Rollins may well stun Triple H too, setting up another match between the two rivals somewhere down the road. But could it come via an interference from a returning Finn Balor?

Nia Jax could be the surprise winner of the Raw Women’s championship, with NXT women’s champion Asuka a potential shock winner of the Smackdown Live equivilant. Although Naomi, competing in her hometown, is well-fancied to bring the glow and reclaim her gold.

Kevin Owens is likely to capture to US title, while Austin Aries could clinch the Cruiserweight gold.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows face strong competition for their Raw tag titles but should retain. Incredibly The Usos don’t appear to be defendng their Smackdown titles and will instead compete in the Andre the Giant Battle Memorial.

But expect Raw’s latest recruit from NXT, Samoa Joe, to see off a spirited Sami Zayn in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – although watch out for Braun Strowman.

And Baron Corbin could claim the Intercontinental title when he takes on Dean Ambrose.
